On September 15, 2023, Consul General Liu Hongmei met with Buriram Governor Chaiyawat at the Provincial Office. Responsible officials from Provincial General Office, Cultural Bureau, Tourism and Sports Bureau as well as Chamber of Commerce attended the meeting.

Consul General Liu pointed out that China and Thailand enjoyed long-time friendship. The Chinese Consulate always attaches great importance to developing friendly exchanges and practical cooperation between China and Northeast Thailand, and is willing to support in this regard so as to contribute to building a China-Thailand community with a shared future.

Governor Chaiyawat welcomed Consul General Liu on her assumption of office and said that Buriram’s main industry was  agriculture, Buriram was also a Sports City with rich tourism resource. He hoped to deepen cooperation with China in areas of sister cities, sports, tourism and chinese education in order to elevate bilateral relations.
