On September 22, 2023, the Chinese Consulate General in Khon Kaen hosted a National Day reception to warmly celebrate the 74th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China. More than 500 people attended the event, including Governors and representatives of 20 provinces in northeastern Thailand, government department officials, overseas Chinese Association, social media reporters, universities and other colleagues around the world, foreign Consuls General in Khon Kaen, and representatives of overseas Chinese, Chinese institutions and Chinese overseas students.
Consul General Liu Hongmei said that over the past 74 years, under the leadership of the Communist Party of China, the Chinese people had completed the development process of developed countries in several decades and created "two miracles" of rapid economic development and long-term social stability.
Consul General Liu stated that China has always been committed to injecting confidence into global economic growth. In the first half of this year, China's economy grew by 5.5%, and its long-term positive fundamentals have not changed. China has always been committed to safeguarding world peace and prosperity, proposing and taking the lead in implementing Global Development Initiative, Global Security Initiative and Global Civilization Initiative, also puts forward the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) upholding the principles of extensive consultation, joint contribution and shared benefits, and promotes the building of a community with a shared future for mankind. China has always been committed to promoting the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation and promoting Chinese modernization with high-quality development, which will surely better develop itself and benefit the world.
Consul General Liu emphasized that China and Thailand have a long history of friendship, frequent high-level exchanges and fruitful results in practical cooperation. The Consulate General will continue to work hand in hand with all sectors in the consular area to conscientiously implement important consensus reached by the leaders of the two countries, continuously deepen exchanges and practical cooperation between China and Thailand and local governments in various fields, and realize the China-Thailand-Laos Connectivity Development Corridor Outlook, making positive contributions to the building of a China-Thailand community with a shared future.
The guest speakers warmly congratulated the 74th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China and affirmed China's outstanding contributions to promoting world prosperity and development and maintaining world peace and stability. They emphasized their confidence in China's future and looked forward to further strengthening pragmatic cooperation between Northeastern Thailand and China in various fields.
