On October 1st, 2023, Consul General Liu Hongmei attended the closing ceremony of the first “National Day Cup” table tennis competition at Khon Kaen Public Overseas Chinese School and presented awards to the winning players. The competition was jointly organized by Khon Kaen Public Overseas Chinese School, the Alumni Association and Kosa Hotel, with support from the Consulate General. More than 170 table tennis enthusiasts from Bangkok, Khon Kaen, Nakon Ratchasima， Ubon Ratchathani, Udon Thani, Kalasin and other places participated in the event.

In her speech, Liu expressed that the holding of the “National Day Cup”table tennis tournament on the occasion of the 74th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China is of great significance. China and Thailand are close and friendly neighbors, and strengthening sports and cultural exchanges is not only integral to promoting traditional friendship but also an important part of advancing the building of the China-Thailand community with a shared future in the new era. The Consulate General is willing to work together with all sectors in northeastern Thailand to expand cooperation in various fields between northeastern Thailand and China, bringing the people of the two regions even closer.
