On November 24, 2023, Consul General Liu Hongmei went to Maha Sarakham to meet with Vice Governor Intaiweng. Deputy Mayor of Maha Sarakham City, Director of Culture Bureau and Vice President of Maha Sarakham University and others were in attendance.

Liu pointed out that the traditional friendship between China and Thailand has a long history,  the Consulate General has always taken the development of friendly exchanges and practical cooperation between China and Northeast Region of Thailand as a priority, and is willing to continue to provide support and help for the cooperation between Maha Sarakham and China,jointly contribute to the building of the China-Thailand community with a shared future. 

Inthaiwong welcomed Liu's visit, stated that Maha Sarakham, with culture and education as its main industry and rich tourism resources, hopes to strengthen cooperation with China in the above fields and push bilateral ties with local governments to a new level.
